Siamese fire department connections are fire protection system inlets that allow fire department personnel to supply water to sprinkler and standpipe systems from one or more external hose lines during emergency response. These devices combine multiple inlet connections into a single shared outlet feeding the building fire protection system, improving firefighting efficiency and system pressurization capability. Commonly used in commercial, industrial, institutional, and high-rise buildings, siamese connections are typically installed on building exteriors for immediate access by fire departments. Available in single and double inlet configurations with clappered check valves, caps, and threaded or Storz connections, these assemblies are designed for UL Listed and FM Approved fire protection systems.
