Accelerators are fire protection system components used to increase the speed of operation in dry pipe sprinkler systems by assisting in the rapid release of air pressure from the system piping. This allows water to enter the system more quickly during sprinkler activation, improving response time in fire suppression scenarios. Accelerators are typically used in larger or high-volume dry pipe systems where air pressure can delay valve trip time. Common applications include commercial, industrial, institutional, and cold-storage fire protection systems.
