Double Checks

Double detector check assemblies (DDCAs) are specialized backflow prevention devices used primarily in fire protection, commercial, and municipal water systems to prevent reverse flow while also providing a means of metering or detecting unauthorized water usage. These assemblies combine a double check valve backflow prevention unit with a bypass water meter (detector meter) to monitor low-flow or unauthorized usage without interrupting system protection. Commonly installed on fire sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, and large commercial water services, double detector check assemblies are required in many jurisdictions to comply with cross-connection control and fire code regulations. Available in flanged and grooved end connections, these assemblies are designed for high-reliability, code-compliant backflow prevention in critical infrastructure applications.
