Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) assemblies are backflow prevention devices designed to protect potable water systems from contamination caused by backpressure and back-siphonage. RPZ assemblies are used in high-hazard applications such as commercial, industrial, municipal, irrigation, fire protection, chemical feed systems, hospitals, and laboratories where cross-connection control is required. These assemblies include a dual check valve system with an intermediate relief valve that discharges to atmosphere when unsafe pressure conditions occur, providing maximum protection for drinking water systems. Available in flanged and grooved end connections, RPZ assemblies are typically testable and repairable in-line to support ongoing code compliance and system safety.
